WMH has developed an in-line storage system for handling trays of product. While the units were developed for a pharmaceutical product the technology can be easily transferred into a food production environment where products need to be aged or rested in between operations.

WMH automated storage and retrieval system, ASRS, is designed to automatically load trays of product into a multi-tier conveyoring system, hold the products for a designated time and then release the trays of product for further processing.

The system incorporates tray and batch monitoring technology to enable stringent quality controls to be met within the production process and will reduce handling costs and improve traceability for batch processing of products. The WMH ASRS is suitable for ambient aging of products but could easily be used in a temperature controlled environment for cooling of products.
